SMALL MOMENTS

Small Moments

Small moments are the building blocks of great achievements. Steadily, diligently, one moment at a time, is how new value comes to life.

Anyone can stay positive, focused, effective for one small moment. Great things happen when you string such moments together.

Today is filled with an abundance of moments. Within those moments, if you choose, you can make real, solid progress.

For a moment, let go of worry, anxiety, fear, anger, resentment and frustration. Fill that moment with action that makes a positive difference.

When that productive, satisfying moment is over, you can choose to do it again. You can create positive moments for as long as it takes to get the results you seek.
Enjoy living at your highest level of effectiveness for just this moment. Then keep it going, and amazing things begin to appear on your horizon.

BE CAREFUL OF YOUR SELF-TALK

Be careful of your self-talk. Without monitoring your mind and your mouth, the majority of what you say to yourself can poison your attitude, weaken your spirit, drain your energy. Be aware that, left unchecked, the negative storyteller in your brain can shut down your faith, amplify your fears and activate a spirit of hopelessness and self-sabotage. Turn off and banish the automatic negative thoughts that will ruin your life, if you let them.

Learn to keep your heart open and love yourself unconditionally. The universe is on your side waiting for your next move. Celebrate what is working in your life. Focus on the positive and on what you can do right now. Give thanks for what you have and that you are still here. That, alone, says that your life still matters. You have something special. You have GREATNESS within you!

KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS REAL

Keep Your Thoughts Real

If you let your mind wander too much, it can wander into some very dark places. Your thoughts can get so far away from reality that your life is impaired.

Yes, keep your mind open, let it run full throttle. But keep it on the pavement of reality.

You can literally think anything you choose to think, and those thoughts build upon one another. There is great power in your thinking, so use that power wisely.

One effective way to keep your thoughts focused where you want them to be focused is to write them down. That forces you to think about your thoughts rather than letting them build into obsessions.

Another useful tactic is to seek the feedback of others. If you have trouble explaining what you’re thinking, perhaps those thoughts are getting outside the bounds of reality.

Your thoughts have great power and influence over your life. Let them soar to the highest heights while also keeping them real.

POSITIVE OPTIONS

Positive Options

Instead of worrying about the worst that could happen, accept that it could indeed happen. Then put positive energy into making sure it doesn’t, or positioning yourself to successfully deal with things if it does.

Sure, you have perfectly valid concerns about the future. But don’t let those concerns prevent you from taking action.

Now is not the time to panic or give up. Now is when you can work to give yourself positive options.

The sooner you accept that there could eventually be a problem, the more power you have in dealing with it. You can strengthen yourself, or get out of the way, or implement countless other strategies to ensure a positive future.

Worrying, complaining, feeling sad or sorry for yourself won’t do you any good. Choose instead to be realistic, putting thought, energy and action into creating the best outcome.

Focus on the good things you can do right now, to prepare, to grow stronger, to prosper. Face the future with courage and with the commitment to create positive options no matter what may come.

THERE IS A REASON THAT YOU ARE STILL HERE

There is a reason that you are still here. Be about the business of finding out why. Discipline yourself not to talk about what you do for a living...but focus your mind on what you are living to do!

Believe in yourself. You are the only person who has the ability to radically change your life. Focus your time and energy on increasing your belief in what is possible for you, building your skills and creating a network of achievement focused relationships.

Choose to be a powerful force in your own life and in the world. Make choices on a daily basis that will move you in the direction of what you want to create for yourself. Summon up the courage, the resourcefulness and the motivation to create a life that you can be proud of. Use your imagination, talents and abilities to live a life of purpose and make a greater impact. Live your legacy now. You have GREATNESS within you!!

THREE TIMES IS A DECISION

WALKING THROUGH CLOSED DOORS

Walking through Closed Doors

Even if you don't know why a door is closed,
at least respect the fact that it is closed
and don't struggle with the doorknob.

If the door was open, you would know it.
Wanting it to be open does not make it open.

Much of the pain in your life happens
when you attempt to walk through closed doors
or try to put square pegs into round holes.

You try to hold onto someone who is ready to go,
or you try to get somebody to do something
before s/he is ready.

Instead of accepting what is and working with it,
you interfere with it and try to manipulate it
to meet your perceived needs.

Obviously, this doesn't work.
It just creates strife for yourself and others.

OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Obligations and Responsibilities

The obligation to do something is not the problem. The problem is your anxiety about it.

The responsibility you have is not the problem. The problem is your resentment of it.

Instead of trying to avoid obligations and responsibilities, focus on their benefits. They burden you only to the degree you see them as burdens.

Following through on your obligations will earn you respect. Upholding your responsibilities will give you influence with others.

Every person has a desire to matter, to make a difference. Obligations and responsibilities enable you to make a difference in a meaningful, positive way.

Choose to stop fighting, stop worrying, stop complaining about obligations and responsibilities. Embrace the great richness they can bring.

THIS MOMENT CAN BE THE START OF SOMETHING MAGICAL

LIVE WITH INTENTION

Live With Intention

The distractions distract you not because of their power, but because of your weakness to resist. Intention eliminates that weakness.

When you’re clear about what’s important, you don’t have to be bothered by what’s not. When you’re committed to a specific result, distractions bounce right off you.

Ask yourself this and insist on a detailed answer. What do you intend to do today?

Your life is too important to let it be controlled by people you don’t even know. Your time is too precious to waste on things that have no meaning.

Today is filled with opportunities to create value, satisfaction, fulfillment. Instead of getting pulled in a hundred meaningless directions, choose your path and stay on it.

Live this day with respect and appreciation for the beautiful, unique life that’s yours. Live this day with intention.

SAVE YOUR TIME, ENERGY & WORDS

Do not give advice to people who have a history of not listening. Save your time, energy and words. Some people may complain about their life, but they have no intention of changing. STOP!! You can not change others - only yourself.

Love and/or pray for others and release them to their own life journey. Put your main focus and energy in creating greater movement and impact in your own life. You have GREATNESS within you!

STAND UP FOR YOURSELF

Stand up for yourself. Do not allow someone, just because they have had a few drinks, or because they are going through hard times, to take out their frustrations and anger on you. Require others to honor your space, and respect your dignity as a person of worth. Let the people in your life own their choices, and do not give them permission to dump their problems or crises on you. This includes your grown children, parents, relatives, people you work with or go to church with, and/or friends.

Refuse to buy into the guilt trips; pay for their consequences. Stop taking on their responsibilities. If you were not there, they would have to figure it out, and they would. Sometimes helping is actually hurting them, and keeping them from helping themselves. Take the time to focus on your own needs for a change, and let others do the same! You Deserve!

CHOOSE WELL

Choose Well

Doing what’s best is not that difficult. It’s just a matter of making the choice.

Focus, discipline, commitment and persistence are all within reach. You just have to continue choosing them.

Even when the situation is disappointing or frustrating, you can take positive, effective action. All you have to do is make the choice, and follow through.

You can choose a life of quality and achievement. You can choose the most beneficial path rather than the path of least resistance.

There are people you love, ideals you value, dreams you treasure. Support them all with the choices you make every moment of your life.

Each time you’re faced with a choice, remind yourself of your opportunity and your obligation to make it the best one. Choose well, and let all of life benefit from the good choices you make.

AWAY FROM DOUBT

Away from doubt

From the very first effort, action begins to replace doubt and fear with courage and confidence. You move from worried and dubious to enthusiastic and effective.

The longer you keep going, the stronger your momentum becomes. Soon you’ll realize you’ve left your doubts far behind.

As overwhelming as doubts may feel, they soon wither under the heat of focused action. As shaky as your confidence seems at the start, it quickly grows stronger and begins to feed upon itself.

It’s understandable you’d be nervous about taking the first step. Yet when you bring yourself to do it anyway, that’s a game changer.

Even a small action will start the momentum. From it you gain the courage, the energy, the passion to keep going.

Go ahead, and take one small yet meaningful action to begin moving away from doubt. Keep going, feel the expanding power of your own intention, and your doubts will soon be left behind.

LEARN TO SAY NO TO YOU

Learn to say no to you! Identify the distractions in your life, and let them go. This may mean letting go of comfort foods, pitiful excuses that fuel procrastination, or unhealthy relationships that are stealing your dream and your new life away from you. Self-control is like a muscle. The more you use it ~ the stronger it gets.

It will require everything in you, and more, to stay in charge of your own life. Look at your life and ask ~ "What areas of my life require more focus, discipline, restraint or persistence?" Use the majority of your time, energy, and resourcefulness to deliberately move your life forward. You Deserve!
